Out With The Old In With The New

The end of my course is approaching and with all things change, I thought why not update my blog, give it a fresher look.

This blog will be marked as part of my course but it is assessed on certain criteria so I thought that I should make the blog easier to navigate. I didn't like what was offered as pre-set templates so I searched some third party ones. I came across many good designs but the one I settled for one is by Templatetrackers. You can see that it is clean, and much easier to find certain categories of posts.

So, here's what my old blog looked like;

And here's my new one;

Yup, that's my new blog! This is the bit you don't see. Although I downloaded a template, I had to change many of the CSS codes (what you see in the image) to relate to my own blog. These codes are the commands of a website for instance they control where things go, how many links there are, where pictures go, etc. I had to change all the links so that they linked to posts and pages on my own blog and find ways to do certain tricks such as the sorting of post types (categories). Bare in mind I've never EVER used CSS codes before, in fact the closest I've ever got to this was making a spreadsheet on Excel for my I.T GCSE. So understandably, I'm quite chuffed, and relieved that most of it actually works!
